Poppy-PR Help Duo Fly Into The Record Books With Superhero Monikers

Two Nottingham based barman have flown into the record books today by changing their names to reflect their superhuman personalities.

The record breaking names, now thought be the worlds longest names were the brainchild of best friends Kelvin Borbidge (22) and Daniel Knox-Hewson (23), who decided to change their names to mark their love of superheroes as they were growing up.

The duo changed their names to ‘Emperor Spiderman Gandalf Wolverine Skywalker Optimus Prime Goku Sonic Xavier Ryu Cloud Superman HeMan Batman Thrash’ and ‘Baron Venom Balrog Sabretooth Vader Megatron Vegeta Robotnik Magneto Bison Sephiroth Lex Luthor Skeletor Joker Grind’.

Knocking 19 year-old George Garratt off the top spot for the longest moniker in the UK, after he changed his name to Captain Fantastic Faster than Superman Spiderman Batman Wolverine Hulk and the Flash Combined, the pair changed their names with The Legal Deed Poll Service for just £10 each earlier this week.

Emperor Thrash, formerly known as Daniel Knox-Hewson said: “We decided to change our names because we were bored of our day to day lives and wanted to do something that reflected our true personalities. We couldn’t believe how easy was to do, we just had to fill in a few forms and we were granted superhero status.”

“The first name and surname were to simply put my awesomeness into words. I then combined the names of all the greatest heroes known to man and added them as my middle names to show that I am super serious.

“We have truly blown George Garratt’s name out of the water.”

Baron Grind, formerly known as Kelvin Borbidge, works at a local pub chain, he said: “The look on my area manger’s face when he asked why my till now said ‘Baron’ was priceless. Our families were shocked and thought that we were crazy. At this moment in time, I am looking forward to changing my name on my bank card, I wonder how they will fit it all on.”

He continued: “Introducing myself to somebody in a serious situation will never be the same again.”

Tina Clough speaking on behalf of the Legal Deed Poll Service said: “We receive many crazy name changes, but these are the longest names on record that we have processed to date. Many customers are surprised how easy and quick the process is and it is a fantastic conversation starter!”
